WHO WE ARE
OOPS is a youth development nonprofit that fosters self-confidence, leadership skills, and positive decision-making in underserved at-risk youth. OOPS was created to help highly at-risk adolescents break cycles of negative risk-taking, violence, and addiction. Through our initiative, which relies heavily on community relations and best practices through the use of evidence-based programs individuals learn strategies to carve out a new way of life – helping them break cycles of negative high-risk behavior; heal shame, anger, and grief; and emerge with a new sense of self and positive future orientation.
After many years of working in the community, Atiba Johnson and a team of leaders forged together in direct response to the growing number of young people that are either falling through the cracks at school, entangled in the judicial system, or just underserved in our community.

MISSION
Through culturally competent and innovative solution-focused community-based services, OOPS Foundation nurtures positive change in the lives of at risk adults, youth and families in the communities they live in. We promote cultural affirmation, social awareness, comprehensive strength-based programming and community building to empower individuals with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to achieve their fullest potential.
VISION
Maintain a commitment to provide quality service programs with compassion and respect that will enrich quality of life and promote healthy communities. We are dedicated to providing programs that are strength-based and culturally competent. In short, we believe in "meeting individuals and families where they are." Through collaborative efforts with customers, families, schools, and community agencies, OOPS is able to provide the communities we serve with specifically designed programs to reduce violence and promote self- reliance.
